Champagne Marie Demets CUVÉE XIX - Extra Brut
An exceptional champagne with a rich maturation of almost 10 years. This Cuvée XIX pays tribute to the 19th century and the painter Renoir, who lived in nearby Essoyes.
The blend of 58% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay results in a refined, complex champagne with an elegant golden yellow color. The taste combines fresh citrus notes with quince jelly and hints of cocoa and vanilla, supported by a light wood touch. Perfect as an aperitif or in combination with luxurious snacks such as truffle butter on toast or goat cheese with truffle oil and honey.
Champagne House Marie Demets
In the heart of the beautiful Côte des Bar, in the village of Gyé-sur-Seine, lies the Marie Demets champagne house. The Demets family has been committed to viticulture in this region since the 1950s. In 1987, a long-cherished dream became reality when the family produced their first vintage Champagne. Today, the family business is led by Pierre Demets and his wife Mathilde, who continue the tradition with their passion and dedication.
The entire process - from caring for the vineyards and pressing the grapes to fermentation, dosing and shipping the Champagne - is done in-house with the utmost care. Marie Demets' vineyard covers more than 10 hectares, spread over 15 plots in the villages of Gyé-sur-Seine, Neuville-sur-Seine, Courteron, Polisy and Buxeuil. The lime and clay soils with their unique composition ensure exceptional Champagne.
Pinot Noir, the most important grape variety on the domain, gives the wines strength and depth. Chardonnay adds elegance and freshness, while a rare plot of Pinot Blanc provides refined aromas of sweet yellow fruit. At Marie Demets everything revolves around craftsmanship and quality: good Champagne starts with perfect grapes. Each glass reflects the work, passion and love for the profession, and brings to life the rich tradition of the Côte des Bar.
